  • Introduction

Recent climate changes are translated on threats of natural disasters such as hurricanes, sea level rise, storm surges, flooding, land loss, glaciers melting in polar regions, etc. These extreme events give an opportunity to new insights on adaptive methodologies to study morphological and geological changes caused by all involved processes in different scales. The elucidation involves multiproxy data collected by different techniques and methodologies, including geophysical techniques, stratigraphy (core facie analyses), meteorological forecasting, numerical modelling (oceanography modelling), etc. In this special issue, we welcome papers focused on the recent coastal histories, theoretical advances, laboratory and field testing, and design methods in Coastal Geology, Marine Geology, Oceanography, Sedimentology, Stratigraphy and Geophysics.
    Aims and Scope:
    1. Coastal Disasters
    2. Coastal Geology
    3. Coastal Geomorphology
    4. Marine Geology
    5. Sea Level Rise
    6. Coastal and Shelf Modelling
