Research Topics
Research Topic is an innovative academic concept focusing on the hottest areas in academia, here gathered a variety of current research active areas and issues. You can browse the topics you are interested in and offer new topics for others.
Science Publishing Group Research Topic showcases your research area and contributes to the communication of academic information. If you have a new topic, please download the form and send it to us.
Research Topic #1
Geomicrobiology
Geomicrobiology is the scientific field at the intersection of geology and microbiology. The field of geomicrobiology concerns the role of microbe and microbial processes in geological and geochemical processes and vice versa. The field is especially important when dealing with microorganisms in aquifers and public drinking water supplies. The study of Geomicrobiology contains some major topics which commonly refer to Microbe-aquifer interactions, Extremophiles, Environmental remediation, Microbially precipitated minerals, and Microbial degradation of hydrocarbons.
Research Topic #2
Economic geology
Economic geology is concerned with earth materials that can be used for economic or industrial purposes. These materials include precious and base metals, nonmetallic minerals, construction-grade stone, petroleum minerals, coal, and water. Today, we might call it the scientific study of the Earth’s sources of mineral raw materials and the practical application of the acquired knowledge. The term commonly refers to metallic mineral deposits and mineral resources.
Research Topic #3
Environmental geology
Environmental geology, is an applied science concerned with the practical application of the principles of geology in the solving of environmental problems. Environmental geology is the application of geological information to solve conflicts, minimizing possible adverse environmental degradation or maximizing possible advantageous condition resulting from the use of natural and modified environment.
Research Topic #4
Soil science
Soil science is the study of soil as a natural resource on the surface of the Earth including soil formation, classification and mapping; physical, chemical, biological, and fertility properties of soils; and these properties in relation to the use and management of soils. Soil occupies the pedosphere, one of Earth's spheres that the geosciences use to organize the Earth conceptually. This is the conceptual perspective of pedology and edaphology, the two main branches of soil science.
Research Topic #5
Oceanography
Oceanography, also known as oceanology, is the study of the physical and the biological aspects of the ocean. It is an Earth science covering a wide range of topics, including ecosystem dynamics; ocean currents, waves, and geophysical fluid dynamics; plate tectonics and the geology of the sea floor; and fluxes of various chemical substances and physical properties within the ocean and across its boundaries.
Research Topic #6
Atmospheric sciences
Atmospheric sciences is an umbrella term for the study of the Earth's sciences, its processes, the effects other systems have on the atmosphere, and the effects of the atmosphere on these other systems. Atmospheric science has been extended to the field of planetary science and the study of the atmospheres of the planets of the solar system.
